Murang’a boda boda riders warned against crime

Boda boda operators in Murang’a County have been warned against engaging in criminal activities as security agencies heighten surveillance during the festive season.

Murang’a County Police Commander Kemboi Kimaiyo said crime tends to rise during Christmas and New Year celebrations, particularly in urban centres, prompting authorities to work closely with motorcycle operators to enhance security.

Speaking during a consultative meeting with riders, traffic officers and local administrators, Kimaiyo urged boda boda operators to share information on suspicious activities, noting that their presence across the county places them in a strategic position to help prevent crime.

He assured residents that security officers remain on high alert to ensure peaceful festivities.

County leaders praised ongoing efforts to professionalise the sector through training and licensing, saying cooperation will boost safety and accountability.
