Investors associated with Thika-based real estate firm Lesedi Developers Limited can now breathe a sigh of relief. The company has commenced the issuance of title deeds for land parcels that investors had purchased, marking a crucial milestone.
Already, Lesedi Developers Limited has successfully processed 150 title deeds for its Kithimani project in Machakos County. For clients who have eagerly awaited these essential documents, this move brings hope and resolution.
But that’s not all. The firm achieved another breakthrough by securing the mother title deed for approximately six acres in Muthara village, Juja. Previously, the original property owner held this ownership document for years due to delayed payments, leading to a protracted dispute involving hundreds of investors.
Geoffrey Kiragu, the firm’s founder, found himself embroiled in legal battles with investors. However, since October last year, he has been out on bail, having been freed on a Sh5 million bond with a surety of a similar amount.
In court, Kiragu explained that the Muthaara project title was initially held by the property owner, complicating the transfer process. Fortunately, the court intervened, resulting in the surrender of the crucial document, which now bears the name of Lesedi Developers.
With the mother title deed securely in their possession, the firm aims to expedite the issuance of title deeds to affected clients. Kiragu expressed the company’s commitment to promptly resolving longstanding disputes, emphasizing that this move would restore clients’ confidence and pave the way for the company’s revival.
Lesedi Developers has relocated its offices to Thika GateWay Plaza along Thika-Garissa Road, underscoring its dedication to securing and issuing title deeds. The firm plans a mass title deed issuance event for clients who purchased the Kithimani project—an announcement eagerly anticipated by investors.
