NGAAF CEO Roy Sasaka secures court order blocking suspension

The National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) Chief Executive Officer, Roy Sasaka Telewa, has successfully obtained court orders preventing his suspension from office, a move recommended by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) amid ongoing investigations into alleged graft and unexplained wealth.

The Milimani Commercial Court, presided over by Lady Justice Jemimah Wanza, issued a temporary conservatory order on Tuesday, restraining the NGAAF Board and other officials from suspending or interfering with Sasaka’s tenure. The court also barred the convening of any board meeting aimed at his removal, pending the hearing of his application on January 21, 2026.

A day earlier, the EACC had written to Gender Cabinet Secretary Hannah Wendot recommending a six-month suspension of Sasaka, citing investigations into abuse of office, conflict of interest, and alleged money laundering.

Sasaka’s legal team argued that the suspension would unlawfully impede his rights and the operations of NGAAF, prompting the court to intervene and preserve his position.

The matter remains pending, and the court is expected to make a substantive ruling following the hearing later this month.
