Kiambu Town MP Machua Waithaka has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening public education following a consultative meeting with principals of all day secondary schools in the constituency.
The meeting focused on academic performance, infrastructure development, emerging challenges, and the implementation of the Free Day Secondary School programme. Waithaka noted that all public day secondary schools in Kiambu Town remain fully free, easing the financial burden on parents and expanding access to education.
He also reported a significant rise in the number of students from day secondary schools joining university this year, attributing the growth to sustained investment in learning environments and close collaboration with school leadership.
Education officers led by Sub-County Director Paul Kigaya, school principals, the NG-CDF team and education partners attended the meeting.
