The Kiambu County Assembly has officially resumed sittings after the long recess, marking the opening of its Fourth Session with a packed agenda centred on oversight, accountability and service delivery.
Members reconvened on Tuesday morning and immediately tabled several key reports examining the county government’s financial performance and policy implementation. Among them was the Annual County Governments Budget Implementation Review Report for the 2024/2025 financial year, detailing how approved funds were utilised across various programmes.
The Assembly also received an update on the implementation status of the Kiambu County Climate Change Action Plan for FY 2024/2025, outlining progress in environmental protection and climate resilience initiatives.
In addition, Members were presented with financial and non-financial performance reports for the first half of FY 2025/2026, alongside detailed accounts for county funds covering the period ending December 31, 2025. These included the Bursary Fund, Emergency Fund, Jiinue Fund, Facility Improvement Fund and other statutory funds.
Further reinforcing its oversight role, the Assembly tabled Auditor-General reports on the County Executive, the County Assembly and the Receiver of Revenue for the year ending June 30, 2025.
Leaders said the early tabling of the reports signals the Assembly’s resolve to prioritise transparency, fiscal discipline and prudent management of public resources.
