KNEC releases May/June 2025 Pearson Edexcel exam results, students directed to collection centers

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released results for candidates who sat the May/June 2025 Pearson Edexcel International Examinations.

In a notice issued Thursday, KNEC urged candidates to collect their results from designated centers in Nairobi, Mombasa, and Uasin Gishu counties.

The exams covered three levels: the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), the International Advanced Levels (IAL), and the International Primary and Lower Secondary Curriculum (IPLSC) for learners in years six and nine.

In Nairobi, candidates can access their results at the Foreign Examinations Office at Mitihani House, South C. Results for Mombasa are available at Uhuru na Kazi Building, 4th Floor, while candidates in Uasin Gishu can collect theirs from Gulab Lochab Academy in Eldoret.

KNEC registers private candidates and administers international exams on behalf of Pearson, with centers restricted to the three counties.

Kenya Prepares for Global Benchmarking Through PISA

The announcement comes shortly after KNEC confirmed that Kenya will, for the first time, participate in the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), a global benchmarking initiative run by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

The assessment, set to begin in September, will evaluate 15- and 16-year-old Kenyan students on how well they can apply knowledge in science, mathematics, and reading to real-world problems rather than rely on rote memorization.

“PISA offers a unique opportunity to benchmark our learners against global standards. This will help inform curriculum development and policy direction to ensure that Kenya’s education system remains globally competitive,” KNEC said in an August 4 statement.
