Gatundu North residents can expect a safer community as the expansion of Kamwangi Police Station gets underway. Funded entirely by the Gatundu North NG-CDF, the project will provide the station with much-needed space for improved security operations.
“True progress is not moving forward but moving upward,” said Gatundu North MP Njoroge Kururia. “We are levelling up security and service delivery in Gatundu North Constituency by expanding our sub-county headquarters,” he added.
This initiative comes as a welcome response to recent security concerns that have plagued the constituency. Residents of Kirai village, for example, were outraged earlier this year by a surge in break-ins at houses of worship.
Vandals reportedly targeted several churches over the past month. This rise in insecurity isn’t limited to petty theft. Gatundu North has also seen an increase in murders, robberies, and drug use, leaving residents feeling unsafe.
The project is being made possible by the acquisition of a strategically chosen 1/4 acre of land adjacent to the current police station headquarters. Construction has already begun, with a strong focus on employing local workers – 100% of the workforce hails from Gatundu North, as MP Kururia emphasized.
As construction progresses and the expansion unfolds, Gatundu North residents eagerly anticipate the tangible benefits of enhanced security measures and improved service delivery
