Rally driver Maxine Wahome has asked the court to clear her of all charges in the murder case involving her boyfriend and colleague, Assad Khan, following the prosecution’s closure of evidence.
Her lawyer, Philip Murgor, told Judge Lillian Mutende that Wahome would argue she has no case to answer. Prosecutor Sarah Ogweno concluded the state’s case after 29 witnesses, including investigating officer Diana Angote, testified.
Key issues highlighted include the role of a leg injury sustained by Khan, alleged hospital-acquired infections, and traces of alcohol and narcotics in his system.
The court will now hear final submissions from both sides before deciding whether Wahome faces trial or can be acquitted. The matter has drawn significant public attention due to the high-profile nature of the parties involved and the circumstances surrounding Khan’s death in Kileleshwa
