Deputy IG Lagat urges police to maintain professionalism, teamwork and community engagement during surprise Kayole station inspection

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Kenya Police Service, Eliud Lagat, has called on officers to exercise professionalism, teamwork, and strict adherence to the law in the fight against crime.

During an impromptu visit to Kayole Police Station on Friday, DIG Lagat assessed operational readiness, service delivery, and the welfare of officers. He toured the station’s offices, cells, and compound, receiving updates from Deputy Sub-County Police Commander Michael Agengo, ASP.

Addressing officers, Lagat commended their dedication and stressed that public trust is earned through transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct. He encouraged officers to deepen community engagement to enhance safety and cooperation.

The visit, welcomed by station officers, provided a morale boost and reaffirmed the DIG’s commitment to improving police service delivery nationwide. Lagat was accompanied by senior commanders, including GSU Commandant Ranson Lolmodooni, Nairobi Regional Police Commander George Seda, APS Regional Commander Peter Chemose, and K9 Unit Commandant Peter Mnyoto.
