Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has lauded the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) for successfully conducting its recent party primaries, saying the exercise reaffirmed the party’s unity and commitment to its bottom-up economic agenda.
Speaking at the UDA headquarters in Nairobi, where he issued nomination certificates to successful candidates, Prof. Kindiki praised the smooth, dispute-free process and the introduction of electronic voting, terming it a milestone for the party.
He reiterated that UDA remains anchored on its founding ideology of empowering Kenyans at the grassroots, highlighting key programs such as universal health coverage under the Social Health Authority, affordable housing projects, agricultural subsidies and education reforms.
“When the time comes for us to account for our first term, we have a strong report to present to the people of Kenya,” the Deputy President noted, citing over 26.5 million Kenyans already enrolled in SHA.
Prof. Kindiki also urged candidates to remain humble, avoid arrogance on the campaign trail, and focus on selling UDA’s transformative agenda. He assured them of full party support but reminded them to show leadership by spearheading their campaigns.
The DP emphasized that UDA’s future extends beyond its current leadership, adding that the party is building a foundation to last for generations.
