Epra announces no change in December fuel prices as super petrol, diesel and kerosene remain stable nationwide

Fuel prices will remain unchanged for the next month after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) released its latest pump price review on Friday. According to the agency, the cost of Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will continue retailing at Ksh184.52, Ksh171.47 and Ksh154.78 respectively in Nairobi from November 15 to December 14.

EPRA explained that the pricing reflects current tax laws, excise adjustments and the value added tax as stipulated in the Finance Act 2023 and subsequent amendments. Regional prices also remained stable, with Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru and Eldoret recording minimal differences tied to transportation and storage costs.

The authority noted slight increases in international landing costs of diesel and kerosene, while super petrol remained almost flat factors that contributed to holding local pump prices steady.

This marks the fourth consecutive month without any increase in fuel prices, offering Kenyans slight relief following July’s sharp spike that saw all petroleum products rise by nearly Ksh9 per litre. EPRA says broader market variables, including exchange rates and buffer margins, were also considered in the November review.
