Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba fires fresh salvo at Gachagua, denies being a political mole

Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba has dismissed claims linking her to Rigathi Gachagua’s new Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), vowing never to join the outfit she mockingly referred to as the “Maskio Party.”

In a strongly worded social media post on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, Wamuchomba accused DCP members of constantly insulting and branding Mt Kenya leaders who disagree with them as “moles” and “betrayers.”

She recalled how, before the 2022 General Election, former President Uhuru Kenyatta cautioned Mt Kenya residents against electing William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua, remarks that were dismissed at the time.

“We told Uhuru maliza uende. He told us mtaregret. Now see high taxes, job losses, and demolished homes,” Wamuchomba stated.

The outspoken MP accused Gachagua of abandoning his role as a regional unifier and focusing on divisive politics. She criticised him for attacking fellow Mt Kenya leaders instead of pushing for agricultural and tea sector reforms.

“The Emotional Battalion is at it again abusing anyone who is not joining the Maskio Party. Politics driven by emotion is self-destructive,” she added.

Wamuchomba, once a close ally of Gachagua, said she will not support leaders with “blood on their hands” or join any political movement through intimidation. She urged Mt Kenya leaders to prioritize unity and mutual respect.

Her remarks came days after Gachagua attacked Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire, whom he referred to as “Karinda,” sparking outrage from women leaders.

Wamuchomba has recently been seen aligning with former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, saying true unity under the “Wantam” movement will only come when Mt Kenya leaders stop tearing each other apart.

“I will not join the Maskio Party blindly. It’s time our region chose dialogue over insults,” she declared.
