What you’ll need:

  • A computer or smartphone with internet access
  • Your Kenyan National ID Number
  • A valid email address
  • A mobile phone number

Instructions:

  1. Open your web browser. Choose a reliable browser like Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.
  2. Navigate to the eCitizen website. Go to https://dis.ecitizen.go.ke/auth/login
  3. Click on “Create an Account”. This button should be located prominently on the homepage.
  4. Choose your account type. Select “Kenya Citizen Account.”
  5. Enter your details. Fill in the following information accurately: National ID Number, First Name,Year of Birth
  6. Create a strong password. Your password should be complex and include a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Don’t use easily guessable information like your birthday or pet’s name.
  7. Confirm your password. Type your chosen password again in the designated field.
  8. Enter your contact information. Provide your valid email address and mobile phone number.
  9. (Optional) Upload your profile picture. While not mandatory, adding a profile picture personalizes your account.
  10. Review and submit. Double-check all the information you’ve entered before clicking on “Create Account.”
  11. Verify your email and phone number. You’ll receive verification codes on both your email and phone number. Enter these codes in the designated fields on the website.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully created an eCitizen account. Now you can use it to access various government services online.
