University Academic Staff Union (UASU) officials at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) have urged lecturers and non-teaching staff to remain united as the nationwide public universities strike intensifies.
Led by chapter chairperson Dr. Muiga Rugara, the officials called on members not to bow to intimidation or division, stressing that their fight is centered on the full implementation of the 2017–2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Dr. Rugara said the prolonged government delay in meeting the agreed terms has left staff with no choice but to down their tools.
The union leaders reiterated that the strike, which has paralyzed learning in public universities across Kenya, will continue until the demands are addressed. They appealed for solidarity and vigilance, warning members against attempts to weaken their resolve.
