Kenyan youth urged to pursue internationally accredited skills courses for global employment, boosting careers across 39 countries

Kenyan youth have been urged to enroll in high-demand skill courses to improve their chances of securing jobs overseas.

Speaking at the 10th Signet-TVET Festival at Eldoret National Polytechnic, Kenya High Commissioner to Australia, Ambassador Dr. Wilson Kipngetich Arap Kogo, said courses in construction, automotive, health support, and engineering can open doors for international employment.

Dr. Kogo highlighted Australia’s 33% labour shortage and noted that globally accredited skills can also benefit 36 other countries. The program, launched in September, provides courses in areas like bricklaying, tiling, diesel engine technology, and aging support.

Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Chelilim praised the initiative, saying it equips youth with internationally recognised qualifications, enhances employability, and promotes dignity. Eldoret National Polytechnic Chief Principal Dr.

Charles Koech added that the partnership with Signet Institute of Australia positions graduates to compete in up to 39 countries globally.
