Kiambaa MP John Kawanjiku has called out Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over his recent remarks, saying national leaders should focus on uniting Kenyans rather than stoking division.
In a statement shared after his interview on Off The Grid with Dennis Itumbi and Carol Ushers, the MP said Gachagua’s comments contradicted the ideals of nationalism and risked creating unnecessary tension across the country.
“He needs to be schooled on what nationalism truly means. You cannot, as a national leader, speak as though you want to burn the country,” Kawanjiku said.
The legislator urged all leaders to uphold national unity and exercise restraint in public discourse, emphasizing that patriotism means working together for peace, growth, and stability.
