Kiambu County continues to advance its infrastructure agenda under the Boresha Barabara programme, spearheaded by Governor Kimani Wamatangi. Today, work was underway along Kambaa Catholic Road in Kijabe Ward, Lari Municipality, where teams are rehabilitating the road surface and constructing stormwater drainage systems.
The initiative is designed to improve road durability and ensure year-round passability, reducing disruptions during the rainy season. By creating proper waterways, the programme also mitigates flooding, which has historically damaged roads and made travel difficult for residents and transporters.
Governor Wamatangi noted that the programme is part of a broader commitment to sustainable infrastructure development across Kiambu County. “We are prioritizing roads that connect communities and support economic activity while implementing durable, long-lasting solutions,” he said.
Residents in the area have welcomed the upgrade, citing the challenges of travel on poorly maintained roads. The programme demonstrates the county government’s focus on improving daily life for citizens while promoting safe, efficient, and reliable transport networks throughout the region.
