The handover of the Gataara Model Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) Centre in Gitaru Ward, Kabete Municipality, has marked a major milestone in strengthening early learning at the grassroots level.
The event brought together county education officials, school administrators, ECDE teachers, parents and local residents, reflecting strong community ownership of the new facility.
Designed to meet modern ECDE standards, the centre offers a safe, child-friendly and supportive learning environment aimed at promoting holistic development during the formative years. County officials said the facility will help improve access to quality foundational education for young learners within the ward.
The project underscores the Kiambu County Government’s continued investment in education and aligns with Governor Kimani Wamatangi’s commitment to building inclusive communities where every child has an equal opportunity to thrive.
