The Kiambu County Government has intensified its infrastructure improvement efforts through the Boresha Barabara Program, a flagship initiative aimed at enhancing road connectivity and unlocking economic opportunities at the grassroots.
Spearheaded by Governor Kimani Wamatangi, the program has begun major upgrades in Kiambaa Sub-county, where a key access road linking the area behind the Sub-county offices to the Banana–Kiambu main road is set for expansion.
Chief Officer for Roads, Julie Waweru, has been on the ground overseeing implementation, ensuring that the project addresses long-standing mobility challenges and supports growing transport needs in the area.
According to the Roads Directorate, the ongoing expansion will also incorporate critical stormwater drainage systems an essential addition expected to improve durability, reduce flooding risks and minimize future maintenance costs.
County officials note that the improved road network will not only enhance daily movement for residents but also boost local trade, transport efficiency and overall socio-economic growth across Kiambaa.
The Boresha Barabara Program continues to position Kiambu as one of the counties prioritizing infrastructure-led development, with more upgrades expected in the coming months.
