Learners at Riabai Primary School in Kiambu Town are set to benefit from improved safety and a better learning environment following the launch of a new 300-metre perimeter wall and modern gate project.
The development was commissioned on Thursday by Kiambu Town MP Hon. Machua Waithaka, who led the Kiambu NG-CDF Committee and engineers from the Department of Public Works in officially handing over the construction site to the contractor.
Speaking during the event, Waithaka said the project forms part of his continued commitment to modernize and secure learning institutions within the constituency.
“Every child deserves a safe and dignified place to learn. This project reflects our dedication to improving infrastructure in public schools,” said the MP.
The new perimeter wall and gate are expected to enhance security for pupils and teachers, while also giving the school a modern look befitting its growing population.
Waithaka added that similar projects are being rolled out in other schools across Kiambu Town, as part of ongoing efforts to support education and ensure that all learners have access to quality facilities.
He further lauded the collaboration between the NG-CDF, Public Works engineers, and school management committees, saying such partnerships are vital in ensuring timely and quality project delivery.
Construction is expected to begin immediately and is set for completion within the coming months.
