Residents of Kiambu Town will soon enjoy improved lighting and enhanced security following the installation of new street lights along Indian Bazaar to Karambaini Road and Kangoya Road.
Kiambu Town Member of Parliament Machua Waithaka confirmed that the project is currently underway and is being implemented by the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) under the National Government.
Waithaka said security remains a key priority in his leadership, adding that proper street lighting will not only enhance safety but also stimulate economic activity in the area.
Improved lighting is expected to deter criminal activity, support businesses operating in the evenings, and create a safer environment for pedestrians and motorists using the roads.
The MP also took the opportunity to remind residents that bursary application forms are now available, encouraging eligible families to apply.
The street lighting project is part of ongoing efforts to upgrade infrastructure in Kiambu Town and improve service delivery at the grassroots level.
