Kiambu Town MP Machua Waithaka has intensified efforts to equip young people with digital skills aimed at opening up employment and business opportunities.
In a statement, the MP said the latest training programme focuses on practical skills including Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Assistance, Graphic Design and other emerging digital fields.
According to Waithaka, the initiative is designed to empower young people to tap into online jobs, freelancing platforms, innovation and entrepreneurship in an increasingly technology-driven economy.
“By investing in digital skills, we are preparing our youth not just for the future, but for the present,” he said.
The programme forms part of ongoing efforts to address youth unemployment by aligning skills development with global digital trends. Participants are being trained on how to monetise their expertise, access online markets and compete in both local and international digital spaces.
The MP reaffirmed his commitment to expanding similar empowerment initiatives across the constituency, saying youth empowerment remains a key priority.
