Kiambu Woman Representative Anne Muratha has intensified her countywide empowerment initiatives with yet another stop in Mbichi, Githobokoni Ward, Gatundu North, distributing tools, equipment and financial support to community groups.
During the outreach, Muratha handed over two tents, each with 100 chairs, to Ngiriaini Community-Based Organization and Triple Self Help Group. Several groups also received empowerment cheques, including Mukurwe United Disabled Self-Help Group and Kioneki Market Traders from Mang’u Ward, Igegania Soul Harvesters Widows from Chania Ward, and Gathaite Farmers from Githobokoni.
To boost small businesses, the Woman Rep distributed chips fryers, UV machines, hair dryers, shaving machines, boda boda umbrellas and helmets, market umbrellas, market trolleys, and a car wash machine for Mbichi Boda Boda Group. Visually impaired residents were provided with white canes, while elderly community members received blankets. Food was also shared with all attendees.
Muratha said the ongoing NGAFF empowerment program aims to expand economic opportunities and strengthen community resilience across Kiambu. “Step by step, we continue to uplift our people and support livelihoods,” she said.
