Preparation for the tarmacking of the Kiamumbi Highway has entered its final stretch after the full completion of the drainage system, Kiambu Town MP Machua Waithaka has announced.
Speaking during a project update, the legislator said the road will now proceed to the surfacing phase in the coming days, marking the first tarmacking of a road in Kiamumbi since independence. He described the development as a “historic win” for residents who have endured years of poor road conditions.
The project, set for completion early next year, is expected to ease movement, open up local businesses, and improve access to essential services across the area.
Waithaka noted that expanding and modernising roads remains a top priority for his office, promising further upgrades to support economic growth and mobility in Kiambu Town. “More is coming,” he assured, saying the transformation of Kiamumbi is only the beginning.
