Teachers With P1, ECDE Certificates Urged to Apply as KUCCPS Opens DPTE Upgrade Portal
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially opened its online portal for applications to the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE), targeting teachers with P1 or ECDE certificates who wish to upgrade their qualifications.
The portal, which went live on Wednesday, allows eligible candidates to submit applications for placement in 33 public Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) across the country.
To qualify, applicants must hold a Certificate in Primary Teacher Education (P1) or a Certificate in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE), both recognized by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC). Additionally, candidates must have attained at least a C grade in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
“The Ministry of Education has introduced this programme to provide teachers with P1 or ECDE certificates with a pathway to upgrade their qualifications to diploma level,” KUCCPS said in its statement.
