The Nyambari-Gitithia-Escarpment-Kabunge-Kijabe-Maaimahiu road is advancing steadily, with 70% of the project now complete, Lari MP Hon Mburu Kahangara has announced.
Once finished, the upgraded bitumen-standard road will link key towns, farmlands, and trading centres, providing easier access for farmers, traders, and commuters. Public transport operators have already begun serving the route, enhancing the movement of people and goods.
The scenic Escarpment route is attracting tourism while supporting the blue economy, with improved access to landscapes and attractions. Residents also benefit from reduced congestion along alternative routes, including the Kamandura-Maaimahiu road.
Kahangara noted that the road improves access to schools, health facilities, government services, and private investments, marking a crucial step towards inclusive socio-economic growth in Lari Constituency.
