Limuru Member of Parliament Eng. John Kiragu has reaffirmed his commitment to driving transformative development across the constituency after holding a community engagement meeting with grassroots leaders to review ongoing projects and assess progress on campaign promises.
The meeting, which brought together local administrators and opinion leaders, highlighted major strides in education, road infrastructure, and digital empowerment three pillars the MP said are vital to improving livelihoods and promoting inclusive growth in Limuru.
Among the flagship initiatives is the Tap-to-Eat Digital Feeding Programme, which continues to make a remarkable impact in public primary and day schools by providing balanced meals at a subsidized cost of just Ksh 15 per plate. The programme ensures no child studies on an empty stomach, while promoting dignity and equal opportunity in education.
Education infrastructure has also received a significant boost, with the renovation of schools, construction of Junior Secondary School laboratories, and improvement of sanitation facilities across the constituency. Kiragu noted that these efforts aim to create a better and more dignified learning environment for Limuru’s children.
In addition, the MP lauded the transparent and fair distribution of NG-CDF bursaries, ensuring that every deserving student especially those from vulnerable backgrounds benefits from government support.
Roads Opening Up Limuru’s Connectivity
Limuru is also experiencing major improvements in road infrastructure. Several key roads, including the Thigio–Nduma–Sigona, Ngenia–Makutano, Njira ya Gichagi–Makutano–Kwabira, and Kwambira–Gitogothi roads, are either complete or nearing completion. Others, such as the Bata–Kinyogori–Murengeti and Karanjee Link Roads, are already awarded to contractors, while additional stretches are in various tender stages.
Kiragu emphasized that improved road connectivity will ease movement, open up trade routes, and enhance access to essential services for rural communities.
Digital Empowerment and Public Service Efficiency
In a bid to strengthen public service delivery, 90% of chiefs’ offices in Limuru have been equipped with modern furniture and ICT machines, allowing for faster and more efficient services to residents.
The Limuru ICT Hub has also been upgraded and fitted with new computers from Konza Technopolis, providing a training ground for youth and community groups to acquire vital digital skills. The MP noted that the programme has already enabled many young people to secure online and ICT-based income opportunities.

During the engagement, grassroots leaders expressed strong support for the MP’s continued collaboration with the national government to ensure Limuru secures a fair share of the country’s development agenda.
Kiragu reiterated that his administration remains focused on fulfilling all campaign promises.
