Nairobi motorists have been advised to brace for heavy traffic disruptions along Thika Road on Friday, September 5, as Kenya hosts Gambia in a crucial World Cup qualifier at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
The National Police Service (NPS) announced temporary road closures and diversions starting from 6 a.m., with roadblocks mounted at Muthaiga and Ruiru interchanges to regulate traffic flow.
Motorists from Nairobi CBD to Thika Town were directed to use Kiambu Road at Exit 4, while those heading to Mwiki should follow the Ruaka–Baba Dogo–Lucky Summer–Nairobi River route.
Residents of Thika, Juja, and Ruiru were urged to use the Northern Bypass or Kiambu Road to access Nairobi CBD, while motorists from Githurai should connect via Githurai 44–Kiambu Road.
Fans travelling from the CBD to Kasarani Stadium were advised to use the service lanes at Exit 7 and Exit 8.
