A high-powered delegation from Nakuru County has visited Kiambu County for a benchmarking mission aimed at learning best practices in revenue management, mobilization, and automation.
The visiting team toured various departments, including the Kiambu Level V Hospital, where they interacted with health officers and reviewed the Health Management Information System (HMIS) used to streamline service delivery and accountability.
Over the past two years, Kiambu County has registered a remarkable leap in own-source revenue growing from Ksh2.9 billion to Ksh5.45 billion the highest since the start of devolution.
Officials attributed this success to the adoption of digital revenue collection systems that have sealed loopholes, enhanced transparency, and improved efficiency in managing county finances.
The Nakuru team commended Kiambu’s use of technology in boosting collections and pledged to replicate similar systems to enhance fiscal performance back home.
Kiambu continues to earn national recognition as one of the counties effectively leveraging technology to strengthen governance, improve public service delivery, and empower local economic growth.
