The National Police Service (NPS) has confirmed that investigations into the chaotic incident at ACK Witima Church in Othaya, Nyeri County, remain active.
In a statement issued on February 15, NPS spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga said officers launched investigations immediately after receiving reports of alleged criminal activity at the church event.
According to the police, detectives have recorded statements, reviewed available video footage and analysed intelligence reports to establish what transpired and identify those responsible.
The Service noted that while preliminary inquiries have relied on publicly available information, comprehensive investigations require affected individuals and witnesses to record formal statements.
Police have now urged members of the public with relevant information to cooperate, emphasising that successful prosecution depends on detailed reporting and credible evidence.
The statement comes as former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua announced that he and other United Opposition leaders will visit the office of Inspector General Douglas Kanja on Monday, February 16.
Speaking during a church service in Roysambu, Gachagua said they intend to seek clarity on the progress of investigations into the Witima church incident.
He questioned the pace of the probe and called for those responsible for the attack to be identified and charged.
The NPS has, however, reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism and impartiality, stating that investigations remain ongoing and further updates will be provided as necessary.
