Anthony Njomo Was Short Dead Outside Qukin Lounge

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of an American Embassy employee outside a local nightclub in Kiambu town.

The victim, identified as 35-year-old Anthony Njomo, was reportedly enjoying an evening with friends at the Qukin Lounge on Saturday, May 25th, when a commotion erupted.

According to initial reports, the altercation spilled outside the establishment, ending in the shooting. Njomo, tragically, was shot in the back and succumbed to his injuries.

Responding quickly to the incident, DCI detectives launched an investigation and apprehended Nason Kiteme, 28-year-old a Comfort Homes branding manager, as the main suspect.

Alfred Nganga, the proprietor of Qukin Lounge, confirmed the event occurred outside the club and was captured by their security cameras facing the road. These recordings are expected to play a crucial role in the investigation.

Njomo’s sudden death has devastated his family and friends. His cousin, Martoh Muriithi, took to social media to express his grief, revealing that Njomo leaves behind a young son and an unborn child.

Muriithi further questioned the nightclub’s security protocols, raising concerns about how armed patrons were allowed access to the establishment.

The Qukin Lounge management issued a statement acknowledging the incident. However, they claim Njomo was not directly targeted but accidentally struck by a stray bullet during an altercation outside involving another group.

The statement maintains the club cooperated fully with authorities, handing over CCTV footage

The shooting has ignited a conversation within the community regarding the alarming issue of armed individuals entering nightclubs. Residents fear this trend poses a significant threat to public safety and security.
