President William Ruto is touring Nyanza to engage leaders and residents ahead of Madaraka Day. His visit covers Kisumu, Homa Bay, and Migori, launching projects, strengthening ties, and inspecting ongoing initiatives.
In Kisumu, he unveiled the LAPFUND Makasembo affordable housing project, which will provide 1,870 units. He also launched the Lake Victoria Point affordable housing project, reinforcing his commitment to urban development.
In Homa Bay, he inaugurated the Gor Mahia Ring Road, a last-mile electricity project, and laid the foundation for a Technical Training Institute in Ndhiwa. These projects improve transport, expand education, and boost economic growth.
At Tom Mboya University, he led the Blue Economy Conference, discussing maritime affairs. He commissioned a new university building and launched the Kenya Shipyard Limited and TMU Maritime Centre, which will train maritime professionals.
His visit strengthens political goodwill in a region long seen as an opposition stronghold. He engaged local leaders, including Raila Odinga, pushing for unity and collaboration.
He reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive governance. He described the ODM partnership as a long-term plan to unite Kenyans and foster development.
