Relief for Kabete Students and Parents! Day Secondary Fees Slashed to Ksh. 1,000 per Term

In a move hailed as a major victory for education affordability, Kabete Constituency witnessed the launch of the KABETE MASOMO KWA WOTE initiative. The program, spearheaded by area Member of Parliament (MP) Githua Wamacukuru, slashes fees for all students in Day secondary schools within the constituency to a mere Ksh. 1,000 per term.

The event, held at Kibichiku Primary School, drew a crowd of dignitaries including Chief Guest Hon. Ndindi Nyoro, Kiambu Women’s Representative Hon. Ann Muratha, and a host of fellow MPs: Hon. Betty N. Maina (Murang’a Women’s Rep), Hon. Jane Kagiri (Laikipia Women’s Rep), Hon. Mohammed Fatuma Zainab (Migori Women’s Rep), Hon. Alice Nganga (Thika Town MP), Hon. George Koimburi (Juja MP), Hon. Simon King’ara (Ruiru MP), and Hon. Mburu Kahangara (Lari MP).

Other notable attendees included Hon. Michael Muchira (Ol-jororok MP), Hon. Cynthia Muge (Nandi Women’s Rep), Hon. Florence Jematiah Sergon (Baringo Women’s Rep), Hon. Mburu Machua (Kiambu Town MP), Hon. Irene Njoki (Bahati MP), senior education officials, school principals, MCAs, and other community leaders.

In his address, Hon. Wamacukuru emphasized the importance of education in shaping the future of Kabete’s youth and expressed his commitment to ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their access to quality education.

“We are dedicated to breaking down the barriers that hinder our children’s access to education. The Kabete Masomo Kwa Wote initiative is a testament to our commitment to providing equal opportunities for all students in Kabete Constituency,” stated Hon. Wamacukuru.
