Reuben Kigame demands mandatory braille and sign language in government communication at Thika High School visit in Kiambu County

Gospel artist and 2027 presidential hopeful Reuben Kigame has called for the introduction of laws making braille and sign language compulsory in all government communication.

Speaking during a visit to Thika High School for the Blind in Kiambu County, Kigame said official statements, speeches, and documents must be translated to ensure Kenyans living with visual and hearing impairments are fully included in national affairs.

“Disability should never be an excuse for discrimination,” Kigame said, urging Parliament to prioritize inclusivity in legislation.

The celebrated musician, who is also a former student of the institution, donated musical instruments to inspire learners. He encouraged them to pursue their dreams, stressing that true equality means equal access to information for all citizens.
