Ruiru Municipality in Kiambu County has recorded a historic milestone in revenue collection, marking a 74 percent increase in the 2024/2025 financial year. The Municipality collected Sh602 million, the highest improvement rate across the county’s municipalities.
The achievement was celebrated at a luncheon attended by municipal officials, business leaders, and Kiambu Revenue Board Chair Mburu Kang’ethe, who delivered Governor Kimani Wamatangi’s congratulatory message.
Governor Wamatangi praised the municipality for its diligence, saying the performance aligns with his broader vision of raising Kiambu’s annual revenue to Sh7 billion within two years.
Local business leaders attributed the success to digitized services, taxpayer education, and improved customer care. Ruiru Municipality, home to 490,120 residents and major industries like Devki Steel Mills and Tatu Industrial City Park, is now set to serve as a model for other municipalities in Kiambu County.
