Ruto empowers 15,000 Nairobian’s at state house, pushes universal health coverage and youth jobs

More than 15,000 Nairobi residents braved chilly weather on Saturday to attend a high-profile economic empowerment forum at State House, where President William Ruto urged citizens to register with the Social Health Authority.

Speaking at the event, Ruto emphasized that registration will allow Kenyans to access hospital services without paying out-of-pocket fees. He also warned health facilities against engaging in fraud, noting the government has allocated KSh 13 billion to ease medical treatment costs.

“Jiandikishe na uandikishe familia yako ili wakiwa wagonjwa wapate matibabu bila malipo yoyote,” the President urged.

On education, Ruto revealed he is personally funding the construction of 250 classrooms to support equal access to education, reinforcing his commitment to youth empowerment.

He further announced plans to employ over 40,000 youths under the Climate WorX initiative, aimed at equipping young people with skills and opportunities for sustainable futures.

The empowerment forums form part of the government’s ongoing nationwide campaign to uplift Kenyans economically. As youths marched chanting “two terms,” the forum underscored the administration’s promise to deliver on key social and economic fronts despite criticism from opposition parties.
