The family of Senator Karungo is both mourning and celebrating the lives of Martean Thangwa and Peninnah Wanjiru, who were remembered in a heartfelt tribute over the weekend. The senator expressed profound gratitude for the outpouring of support and prayers from the community during this difficult time.
On August 18th, the family welcomed Governor Kiambu, the Speaker of Kiambu, and Kiambu MCAs to their home in Mitahato for a somber yet uplifting prayer session. Their presence brought much-needed solace and underscored the strong support network surrounding the Karungo family.
The burial mass for Martean Thangwa and Peninnah Wanjiru is scheduled for Wednesday, August 21st, at Mitahato Primary School in Ngewa Githunguri. Following the mass, the interment will take place at Juja Farm in Kalimoni Ward, Juja constituency.
In his message of thanks, Senator Karungo reflected on the comfort found in the scripture: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). His words conveyed both the grief and the gratitude felt by the family during this poignant period.
