Tatu Telecom Connects Over 1,000 Customers to High-Speed Fiber Network

Tatu Telecom, the telecommunications provider for Tatu City, has achieved a significant milestone. They have connected over 1,000 customers to their high-speed fiber optic network. This achievement includes the installation of 85,000 meters of fiber optic cable.

In a statement, Tatu Telecom emphasized its commitment to delivering world-class digital connectivity to the 5,000-acre new city. The company aims to provide reliable and high-speed internet to homes, schools, and businesses within Tatu City.

Designed to keep pace with the city’s rapid development, Tatu Telecom’s network offers speeds of up to 100Gbps. This ensures future-proof connectivity for residents and businesses alike. The company prides itself on providing a seamless connection to its network within 24 hours of moving in.

Alex Kahu, Deputy Country Head at Tatu City, expressed the significance of this milestone. He stated, “This achievement is not just about numbers; it’s about the lives we are transforming by providing reliable, high-speed connectivity to thousands of residents, students, and businesses.” Kahu further emphasized Tatu Telecom’s commitment to empowering everyone to thrive in a digitally connected world as Tatu City continues to grow.

Since its establishment three years ago, Tatu Telecom has built an open-access network. This allows multiple internet service providers (ISPs) to serve businesses and residents. This strategy has attracted a diverse customer base, including large corporations, call centers, schools, and homeowners.

To support its growing clientele, Tatu Telecom operates a 24-hour help desk. They offer round-the-clock technical assistance. The company has also announced plans to enhance its services with firewall protection to boost cybersecurity for homes and businesses.

Tatu Telecom’s commitment to providing affordable and accessible internet is further demonstrated by its recent launch of Fahari Link. This initiative aims to extend high-speed internet to underserved communities in Kiambu County. It offers low-cost connections, daily internet plans, and public Wi-Fi. Fahari Link is expected to connect nearly one million people in the region, including residents of Ruiru, Oaklands, Murera, and Kamiti Corner.
