The Kenyan government has dismissed allegations by Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua linking President William Ruto to the alleged Minnesota fraud funds.
Speaking during a church service at AIPCA Kiratina in Githunguri, Kiambu County, Gachagua called on the United States to intervene and investigate the President’s involvement in the contested funds, claiming part of the money financed political campaigns and property development in Kenya.
In response on Monday, Trade Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui described the claims as reckless, pointing out that Gachagua was formerly President Ruto’s running mate. Kinyanjui warned that seeking foreign involvement in domestic political disputes could damage Kenya’s international reputation and diplomatic relations.
He said political rivalry should not overshadow matters with serious global implications, urging all leaders to handle such claims responsibly.
