Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 28-year-old Jane Mwende, who was found dead in what appears to be a suicide.
According to reports, the incident occurred in the couple’s home in Githogo, Kiambu. Mwende was discovered hanging from a shower pipe in the bathroom. Her husband, Jacob Kirima Mutunga, was reportedly outside at the time, attending to livestock.
Neighbors and family members are in shock after learning that Mwende, who had reportedly packed her clothes into a sack before the tragic act, was found without a suicide note. The lack of a note has left investigators and loved ones searching for answers regarding the motive behind her actions.
Police arrived at the scene promptly and secured the area for investigation. The body of Mwende has been transported to Tigoni Level IV Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
