Wiper Party accuses President Ruto of claiming Kalonzo Musyoka’s Ukambani projects, vows to challenge him politically

The Wiper Patriotic Front has strongly criticised President William Ruto, accusing him of falsely taking credit for development projects initiated by party leader Kalonzo Musyoka in the Ukambani region.

In a statement issued by Wiper Secretary General Shakila Abdalla, the party singled out the Kibwezi–Mutomo–Kitui–Bondoni road, saying it was conceived and launched by Kalonzo in 2011 and financed through the EXIM Bank of China.

Wiper claimed Kalonzo personally travelled to China in 2012 to finalise funding arrangements, before the project was allegedly frustrated after the Jubilee administration took office in 2013. The party further alleged that the road was later revived in 2017 for political gain.

The party accused President Ruto of running a propaganda campaign against Kalonzo and attempting to rewrite development history. Wiper defended its leader’s public record, saying he left office without corruption allegations, and maintained that he will not join the government.

The party reiterated that Kalonzo Musyoka will face President Ruto in the 2027 General Election.
