Kiambu County on Thursday hosted a high-level delegation from the World Bank, led by Managing Director of Operations Anna Bjerde, who was accompanied by Dr. Ndiamé Diop, the Vice President for Eastern and Southern Africa, and Anna Wellenstein, Regional Practice Director for the Planet Department.
The team toured Kiambu to assess the progress of the County Agriculture World Bank Project, which continues to uplift local farmers through funding and technical support.
Their visit included an inspection at Limuru Dairy and an engagement with farmers showcasing success stories and innovations supported by the programme.
Kiambu’s County Executive for Agriculture, Wilfred Mwenda, and senior county officials lauded the collaboration, noting that the partnership has boosted agricultural productivity, improved incomes, and promoted sustainable farming across the county.
The visit reaffirmed Kiambu’s growing reputation as a model of agricultural transformation driven by global partnerships and grassroots innovation.
