Youth Affairs PS Fikirini Jacobs announces launch of Ksh20 billion NYOTA Fund validation targeting 800,000 youth nationwide from Friday, October 24

The government has announced a nationwide validation exercise for Kenyans shortlisted to benefit from the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Fund.

Youth Affairs Principal Secretary Fikirini Jacobs said the exercise will officially commence on Friday, October 24, at the constituency level, in line with President William Ruto’s directive during the Mashujaa Day celebrations.

“All pre-selected applicants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with their respective venues and participate in this crucial stage of the program,” PS Fikirini said in a statement.

Applicants have been instructed to appear in person at their designated sub-county venues carrying their original national ID and the pre-selection message they received.

The PS further urged those who have not yet received pre-selection messages to remain patient, noting that the shortlisting process is still ongoing.

President Ruto, while addressing the nation in Kitui on Mashujaa Day, directed that the NYOTA validation and disbursement processes be fast-tracked to ensure young Kenyans begin benefiting from the Ksh20 billion programme by early November.

The NYOTA Fund is a five-year, World Bank-backed initiative aimed at tackling youth unemployment and promoting income-generating ventures. The program targets 800,000 youths across the country, supporting them through various economic empowerment categories.
