463 Cartons of Lubricants Stolen from Thika Industrial Park Recovered in Juja

DCI detectives have recovered 463 cartons of lubricants stolen from a warehouse at Thika Industrial Park. The stolen goods were found in Juja’s Faith Estate – Riverside Court, following the arrest of a 10-man gang believed to be behind a series of break-ins in Nairobi and its environs.

The suspects, aged between 36 and 50, were arrested during a joint operation by detectives from the DCI’s Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) Nairobi area and DCI Kasarani. They are suspected to have been involved in planning and executing break-ins targeting hardware goods, steel products, lubricants, and motor vehicle spare parts.

Following their arrest, the suspects led detectives to their hideout where the stolen lubricants were recovered. Four motor vehicles linked to the burglaries were also impounded.

Preliminary investigations have linked the gang to a break-in at Syzo International premises in Mwiki in April 2024, where hardware items and laptops were stolen.

They are also suspected to be behind the murder of a security guard during a break-in at Patnet Steel Makers in Kamulu on July 26, 2024.
