Limuru MP John Kiragu Chege has announced significant progress on the long-awaited Bata–Murengeti Road, describing the ongoing works as a visible step toward transforming the area. The project, executed by Sinopec, also includes tarmacking of the Karanjee Link Roads.
MP Chege personally inspected the earthworks and road clearing, praising residents for their cooperation with the contractor. He urged patience during temporary disruptions, emphasizing that quality workmanship and the employment of local residents remain top priorities.
“This project is especially close to my heart. It is a vision I initiated during my first term as MP from 2013–2017. By God’s grace, the decision to disengage the former non-performing contractor has borne fruit,” Chege said.
Once completed, the road will significantly improve accessibility, reduce accidents, and unlock socio-economic opportunities across Limuru Central and Bibirioni Wards, providing a safer alternative to the congested Nakuru–Nairobi highway.
The MP noted that the project supports the community directly, empowering locals through jobs and ensuring that infrastructure development benefits residents while boosting trade, transport, and farming activities.
“Through deliberate, strategic steps, we are unlocking Limuru. More development is on the way, and I remain fully committed to delivering real change for this community,” Chege added.
