Residents of Kawaida in Cianda Ward, Kiambaa Sub-county, are set to benefit from improved access to healthcare following the near completion of the area’s first-ever hospital.
For decades, families in this populous region have been forced to travel long distances to seek comprehensive medical services, placing both financial and logistical strain on households.
The County Government of Kiambu has confirmed that construction of the new facility is in its final stages, paving the way for equipping and official commissioning in the coming months.
The project has been championed by Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi, who has consistently pledged to bring quality and affordable healthcare services closer to residents across the county.
Once operational, the hospital is expected to ease congestion in neighbouring facilities while improving emergency response and routine care within Cianda Ward and its surrounding areas.
County officials say the development marks a significant milestone in strengthening healthcare infrastructure in Kiambu and enhancing service delivery at the grassroots level.
The hospital will be officially commissioned upon completion and equipping, signaling a new chapter for healthcare access in Kawaida and the larger Kiambaa community.
