Governor Kimani Wamatangi has urged all government hospitals to increase transparency regarding their drug availability. The governor made this appeal during a visit to Gatundu Level 5 Hospital, a facility that has expanded significantly through a partnership with Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral, and Research Hospital (KUTRRH).
Wamatangi emphasized the importance of hospitals displaying all available drugs in their pharmacies. He noted that this practice would prevent patients from mistakenly believing that certain medications are unavailable, leading to unnecessary frustration and inconvenience.
“By displaying the available drugs, we can ensure that patients have access to the information they need to make informed decisions about their healthcare,” Governor Wamatangi stated. “This is a crucial step towards improving the overall patient experience in our government hospitals.”
KUTRRH has been instrumental in the development of Gatundu Level 5 Hospital, with the construction and equipping of Tower 2 being a significant milestone in the partnership. The governor expressed his gratitude for the collaboration and the positive impact it has had on healthcare services in the region.
