Kiambu Town Member of Parliament Machua Waithaka has unveiled a new modern administration block at Kiamumbi Police Station, marking a major upgrade aimed at improving security services and working conditions for officers in the area.
The newly constructed facility will also house offices for the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), providing a more structured and efficient operational environment compared to the temporary iron sheet structures that had previously been in use.
Speaking during the unveiling, the MP said the project is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security infrastructure within the constituency and enhance service delivery to residents.
He noted that the previous mabati structures were not only inadequate but also posed challenges to effective policing, particularly in handling sensitive investigations and ensuring the safety and comfort of officers.
“With this new administration block, we are giving our officers a dignified and conducive working environment that will enable them to serve wananchi better,” Waithaka said.
The modern facility is expected to improve coordination between police officers and DCI personnel, streamline investigations, and enhance overall efficiency in handling cases within the Kiamumbi area and its surroundings.
Residents have welcomed the development, expressing optimism that improved infrastructure will translate into better security response and reduced crime levels in the area.
Local leaders present during the event also praised the move, saying investment in security infrastructure is key to ensuring safety in rapidly growing urban areas within Kiambu County.
The project comes at a time when demand for enhanced policing services continues to grow due to increased population and urban expansion in Kiambu Town and neighbouring areas.
