Alliance High School closes after fire

Alliance High School has been closed indefinitely following an early morning fire incident that broke out at the school’s mattress store, prompting an urgent evacuation of students and the immediate intervention of emergency teams.

The school administration confirmed the incident, noting that the fire occurred on Thursday morning and was swiftly contained before it could spread to other parts of the institution. According to the principal, David Chomba, no students or learning facilities were affected by the blaze.

Despite the quick response that helped prevent extensive damage, the school management took precautionary measures by ordering the closure of the institution and directing parents to collect their children without delay.

Reports indicate that the fire started around 4 am, with school staff and emergency responders acting quickly to control the situation. The containment efforts successfully prevented the flames from spreading beyond the mattress storage area within the school compound.

Authorities are expected to launch investigations to establish the cause of the fire, with early inquiries likely to focus on how the incident started in the early hours of the morning and whether there were any contributing safety lapses.

The closure of Alliance High School adds to a growing list of learning institutions affected by fire incidents and student unrest in recent weeks. Several schools across the country have either been temporarily shut down or placed under heightened security following similar cases.
