Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has announced the return of his free online revision classes for KCSE candidates, a program that gained national attention during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through a post on his official X account on Saturday, October 25, 2025, Babu confirmed that he will conduct a live mathematics revision session at 7:30 p.m. via his Facebook page, inviting all candidates to join in.
The lawmaker, who began the initiative to help students during school closures, said his mission remains to inspire and prepare learners for national exams regardless of their background.
“The main aim is to motivate candidates to believe in themselves. If I came from the Nyalenda slums selling chang’aa, then you as a student can also make it,” he said in a previous statement.
His announcement comes as the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) officially commences oral and practical KCSE exams across the country. The initial phase, running from October 21 to 27, covers subjects such as French, German, Arabic oral, music practical, and Kenyan Sign Language.
KNEC urged all centres to maintain strict adherence to exam timetables and logistical protocols to ensure smooth and credible administration.
Babu’s continued involvement in academic mentorship has drawn praise from parents and students who view his free lessons as a morale booster, especially for those with limited access to paid tutoring.
